Requirements for joining:
Yes, you do need to meet one of several criteria. Being directly related to a current member is one way, working for one of the credit union's associated companies is another, living in one of three NC counties or within 25 miles of their Hope Mills branch is another, and if none of those work for you, you can donate $10 to the Hispanic League of the Triad, or $25 to the Consumer Credit Counseling Service (I may have that last organization's name wrong).

Debit card fees:
With the checking account, no ATM fees. With the savings account, there is a small fee (I think $1.50-$2.00) for the first two withdrawals in a month, then it's, I think, $6.00 per withdrawal. (So withdraw from your checking account, it sounds like to me.)

$25.00 if your check has to be rejected NSF. If you deposit someone else's check, and *it* bounces, they charge $6.75, which they say is just the processing charge they have to pay.
